Computers, whether we like it or not, are now part of our daily lives. But it was a different story up until the 1970s. Students of the by-gone era had to know their stuff or they didn’t get very far in life – remember having to recite those dreaded multiplication tables??In this day and age it’s a very different story. Now in the classroom, calculators are as common as wristwatches and the need to think for oneself is rapidly diminishing. However some calculators (and even watches) are so complex you need a degree to operate them!!
In recent years, every school,
college and university is expected to be
up and running using a computer or network
of computers that they can afford and within the UK this
has been achieved. Around the globe however, due to
government and economic pressures, schools are sadly
lacking behind, although there is an ongoing commitment in
some countries to ultimately provide everyone access to a
computer. Also, a growing number of PC manufacturers and
retailers offer special discounts on student
laptops, and student PCs.
Having access to broadband internet is also an essential part of a students course. as studens are on a budget they must find the cheapest broadband. Compiled below are a list of broadband comparison sites that will help you find a good broadband deal;

With the advent of the Internet and the abundance of
cheap computer systems available, there
are an increasing number of students who have a computer at
home. Just take a look around the area you live – if you
don’t have access to a computer, there are probably only a
couple of internet cafes/shops in your area – the library
being one. Certain parts of Bangkok (and other major
cities) in Thailand however, have an
internet shop every few yards to cater for
the majority of people who don’t have access to a computer.
In this website we'll take a look at the development and
growth of the computer and the effect it
as had on the life of the
student.
